I was so excited about this cake, because the bride just gave me several cakes for guidance, and then gave me design freedom. The two little ceramic bride and groom bird toppers were the inspiration, and she wanted a Birdcage cake on top.

I saw a cake in a styled shoot that inspired my lavender tier of wafer paper hydrangeas, pearls, and sugar glitter. I cannot find who the artist was to give credit, but it was so beautiful, that I tweaked it to my own style and thought it came out to be one of the single most beautiful cake tiers I’ve ever done. Pictures don’t do it justice. In person it was so glittery and pretty!

The bottom & lavender tiers were white velvet cake with Amaretto buttercream filling. The birdcage and blush lace tiers are Chai Tea cake with Amaretto buttercream filling. The roses are all gumpaste, accented with fresh florals for filler.
