This design was inspired by so many fabulous artists! It started out by remembering a piece by Hilary Mckeown of Hilary Rose Cupcakes, for the Super Moms collaboration two years ago. I had always wanted to attempt the pretty Lilacs that Hilary had so exquisitely adorned her cake with, but didn’t have the skills to. …and then was so thrilled when Jacqueline Butler came out with a Craftsy Filler Flower class…and Lilacs were included. I highly recommend the class! Great teaching. …I pulled in Faye Cahill’s Roses, a combination of James Roselle’s and Christine Craig’s Tulips…and came across the most amazing weathered effect using wafer paper by Kassy Jimenez of Cakes & Crafts by Kass! It was so simple and effective…and she has so generously done a free tutorial for it! Yay!! I also incorporated a seersucker ‘fabric’ for a feminine touch to pair with the ‘barn wood’. xx
