My Unicorn cake was made of my favourite dark chocolate sponge 😋, filled with chocolate buttercream. I carved the cake to roughly resemble the Unicorn’s body shape and added rough carved polystyrene forms for the neck and head. The whole thing was coated in chocolate ganache, and I used the ganache to sculpt and refine the shape, adding muscle definition. At this point the Unicorn had no legs. I then covered and decorated with fondant, forming the ears, horn (with skewer), main, tail and legs completely out of fondant. Details were painted on using petal dusts and gel colour.
