About my piece :— About 15% of EGYPT is comprised of Coptic Christians headed by the Coptic Orthodox Church. The head of the Church is His Highness Pope Tawadros II, whom I chose to depict in my piece as he brings stuffed animals, toys and gifts to children, hoping that he will climb through their windows and leave them some presents under their Christmas trees. They may even leave out for him some KAHK, or Egyptian sweet cookies. The Nativity of Christ (Christmas) is a major festival in Egypt when Baba Noël (or Father Christmas) typically visits on Christmas Day, January 6th.
My piece is created using Satin Ice and halal (kosher) crispy treats. Baba Noël is adorned in his regal celebratory robe and famous skull cap, sitting ontop of a decorated Arabian horse, adorned with gold coins, colorful leather straps, gold-thread tassles and richly decorated, hand-painted cloth. I made this a rocking horse after seeing an inspirational design online, which I wanted to try my hand at recreating.
I want to, again, thank each person in my team who made this so much FUN and a pleasure working with you all!!
