This cake was for my son’s birthday. The cake was made using an 8" ball pan for the body, then the 6" ball pan for the head. I ganached the spheres together, then covered it in a 50/50 mixture of fondant and modeling chocolate. The decorations are fondant.

ArtofCakeNY, I think I have a few progress pics from when I put the cake together. I’ll see what I can find. Yes, there is internal structure support. I used a support that ran straight through the board and up through the top of the bottom sphere. I made sure that the support dowel (in my case, a threaded rod) was about 2 inches taller than my sphere. This way, dowel could extend into the bottom of the head. Does this make sense? Hope this helps.
