Salvation Army kettle cake

Salvation Army kettle cake

This cake is a donation to the Lake Monroe sailing association in Sanford, Florida to use in their annual fundraising regatta for the salvation army. I admire the sallies, they are ALWAYS there in times of crisis, I even remember in Sydney, Australia our apartment building was evacuated at midnight one night due to a petrol leak from the petrol station across the road…so huddled in the chilly morning air who should come along with hot drinks and blankets…but the Sallies. I have never forgotten their kindness to everyone, especially the older ladies so I try to donate something every year to help their christmas fundraising. What better than to make a cake that looked like their kettle? :-)
