This wedding cake was painted with gold edible powder mixed with quick dry essence. The bride only wanted one flower (a peony) on the cake which added to it’s elegance. Sadly, I learned that after I had left the venue and had the cake signed off by the wedding co-ordinator, some interfering relative thought it needed more flowers and she promptly went and stuck a whole lot more into the cake (yes, straight into the cake without using flower picks!) and a whole lot around the base of the cake! Thankfully, I always have a delivery note signed off by the co-ordinator as my back up. This is a lesson to be learnt – always have your cakes signed off by a responsible person!
