Here’s my Shoes & Handbag entry for Cake International that I am pleased to say I received a Gold award. There are no supports in the heels of the shoes and no wire in the clips of the bag either as this entry had to be completely edible.

The bag is actually real cake covered with chocolate ganache and iced with Massa Ticino by CARMA sugarpaste. I painted it with a white pearl lustre dust for the lustre look and used the Victoriana lace mat by Cake Lace (best mats ever!!)

This is the only part where I struggle with the lace. Attaching it onto lustre prooved very time consuming

These have to be the most fiddly little clips ever but I wasn’t giving in!!

I wanted to make Wedding shoes with the bag as I love creating wedding cakes and my inspiration was to have them on a brick/stone board which represents the path in the Church yard. I made edible confetti for an extra touch

Well every shoe has a name and I was really stuck on what to call them and had my daughter sat in front of me asking her for ideas when it came to me……………. so they are named after her – Zoe

The frill or as some people have referred to it as ‘the garter’ if you look closer is in opposite directions either shoe
