The brief was an elegant 18th birthday cake for a young lady returning from a long trip to Paris.
I chose to design and use printed icing sheets for the bottom tier, and used a rich charcoal colour to provide a counterpoint to the delicate pinks.
The flower is also fondant and based on an open peony style.
