I soooooooo loved making this cake! Client wanted this cake for her dad’s 60th birthday celebration. She wanted all his favorite things on the cake. He loves fruits, especially papaya, and it HAD to be there on the cake. The other fruit he loves are apple, custard apple, and sapodilla, which also had to be there.
Her dad loves his morning cuppa tea, and his Toyota Innova. Also he is always talking on his phone.

However she wanted a major part of the cake to be without fondant, because he is also very particular about tastes. So this was the compromise we struck. The cake underneath, shaped like a round platform of sorts, is dark chocolate truffle cake. The basket shaped cake is covered with fondant.

Papaya is cake, the rest of the fruit and the tea mug are RKT covered with modeling chocolate and hand painted. The words on the mug are hand painted too. My neighbor saw me carrying the cake for delivery and wondered why I was carrying a basket of fruit. It took him a while to register that it was all cake and all hand made
