My Piece “The Fox’s Wedding”
I was inspired to make this fondant figure by the old Japanese Folk Tale, “Kitsune no yomeiri”, which means The Fox’s Wedding. In the story, when the townspeople are confronted by unusually bright yet foggy weather, the ghostly light leads them to believe that there is some kind of wedding occurring in the countryside, perhaps a ghost wedding, complete with marital party lanterns…… When they go out to search for the lanterns and are unsuccessful in their quest, it is said that the foxes have played a trick on them….
