A delicious cakescape I made for my husband’s birthday on the weekend. Our girls helped by painting some watercolour hearts to put on the cake, and also helped arrange some of the other decor (when I wasn’t being a control freak lol!). I love this cake style, and have been inspired by the instagrams of Unbirthday Bakery, Cakes by Cliff and Bakedown Cakery. Droolworthy!
It’s a vanilla cake soaked in salted caramel, with dark choc ganache meringue buttercream (yes I mixed them together and it was amazing!), covered in salted caramel SMBC and dark choc ganache drip. Topped with chocolate waves, twix bars, caramel popcorn and handmade oreo choc pyramids. YUM! So glad I got to eat this one hehe.
As much as I love fondant and modelling, etc, sometimes this sort of cake is just the right kind! Not as time consuming but still very pretty :-)
Love it !!
