Congratulations to my younger brother Gawain and his beautiful wife Jade on their big day!! I was very proud to be able to make this cake for them and had a wonderful time sharing their wedding day with them. I only almost cried 5 times throughout the day too… A small miracle for someone who is 8 months pregnant?!
I would just like to stress EVERYTHING about this wedding was impeccable – I have personally never seen so much detail and thought go into every aspect of a wedding (the cake was only a very small part but obviously I’m focussing on that now ;o) and I’d love to show you more from Gawain and Jade’s big day but – me not being known for my good photography – I had my new camera on the wrong setting (oh dear) and all the photos I took of the marquee/decorations/details did not really do them justice. So I shall await the professional photos to share the full event with you all! Anyway, thankfully I took some iphone photos of the cake so I can at least show you these!!
Big thanks to Mel at The Cake Revolution for making the beautiful bespoke laser cut wooden topper. For anyone interested in ordering something similar; this girl can work wonders with a laser cutter! Thanks also to Claire Anderson of Clairella Cakes, Claire Copsey at Claire’s Cakery Supplies and Melissa at Melissa Woodland Cakes for trying their hardest to get me a tree stump cake stand when I got badly let down on one at the last minute by a supplier. My builder came up trumps for that in the end!! xxx
