This is not my photo as a computer crash meant that I lost all my pics of this cake. The bride came to me because she wanted my rich fruit cake and no other would do! She wanted roses and yet a modern feel to the cake. I volunteered that I could make the roses smell like roses and she was sold. She also revealed that rust was the feature colour for the wedding and that she would like to see this represented on the cake subtlety. The leaves afforded me the subtlety requested. The bottom and top tier are rich fruit with the middle tier being a dummy. This was a second marriage for both parties and understated and celebration went hand in hand with my brief in deference to the children of those first alliances. I loved designing this cake.
