I was very honoured to be asked by Jacki Fanto of Blisfully Sweet (http://cakesdecor.com/search/members?q=Blissfully+Sweet ) to partake in a guest feature for the September Issue of Cake Masters Magazine ( http://cakesdecor.com/CakeMasters ). The Feature was Fashion Through the Decades, a perfect way to celebrate fashion in confection.
10 cake artists came together to then bring a decade of fashion to life in cake design. My decade was the 30’s and despite the fact it was a time of depression, there was still very much a focus on femininity and fashion such as afternoon tea dress, which is what inspired the design I did here, as it also ties into my fond, warm childhood memories of my grandmother who use to wear the pretty floral voiles and floaty fabrics….. and her much remembered tea cakes and jam tarts.
