This month, friends of mine in Portland had their first wedding anniversary. What a perfect opportunity to create this cake, right? They also own Hip Chicks Do Wine, Oregon’s oldest urban winery. Doubly perfect!

This cake is pink champagne butter cake, strawberry SMBC filling, and LMF fondant to cover, and for the grapes.

Simi Cakes isomalt was used for the bottle and glass. One fairly bad burn was worth the outcome. A fair trade for the happy smiles on my friends’ faces.
