This wedding was so original and had a lovely theme running through it of ‘birds with hats’ artwork by London artist Alice Tams. It was such a pleasure to handpaint these birds on to the cake, they were quirky and super British 😄 but it was so refreshing and in the middle of a tough week where I would happily have given up altogether, it brought some light relief and reminded me how much I love unusual wedding cakes. The leaves and flowers are sugar, the bottom tier is cake in a wood effect and the birds were handpainted on, which I’m pleased to say worked out first time!
