I entered this cake in this past weekends’ Cake and Craft Show cake competition here in Auckland, NZ. She won first place in the professional carved cake category! I was super super surprised, there were some amazing cakes there! I second guessed my design decision the whole way (she was a 3am epiphany that seemed silly in the light of day!) but I’m glad I pushed ahead (I almost gave up many times, decorating a cake on a swing that swings is not an easy feat :) ) My amazing husband made the structure and the frame – massive props to him, as I throw ideas at him and he always comes up with a way to make it work <3
