6" cake fashioned after the dress and glass slipper in the new Cinderella movie. They wanted it fairly simple so I didn’t go as way out as I would have loved to, but still managed to try some new things and make it nice and princessy. She had a plastic Cinderella to put on top to cut costs, so I took photos of it with and without. I think I like it best with just the glass slipper??? But maybe that’s just because it took me ages to make and I wanted it to be the feature!
I used a mold for the gelatin shoe then painted it blue with gel colour and vodka on the inside and joined the two sides together. Trouble struck when I covered it in edible glue to cover it in glitter and the shoe started to soften and lose its shape. Argh! Then I used too much glue to attach the wafer paper butterfly and it started to disintegrate too!! I should have known but didn’t think about it. Oh well, live and learn eh! It was fun using some different mediums than fondant and gumpaste. I’ll totally try gelatin again for some other uses I think.
Thanks for looking :)
So original and experimental too. Love that shoe! xxx

It’s gorgeous. I love your shoe and yes, I agree it looks better with just the shoe than with the plastic model. Your shoe should have centre stage especially with all the work (and trauma) you put in. 😊
