Last year my family and I went to London and during a day visit to Bath we were lucky enough to enjoy afternoon tea at Bea’s Vintage Tea Rooms. I loved how they served us tea in a mismatched tea set. That afternoon tea in Bath inspired me to make this cake for Mother’s Day, where the teapot and cups and saucers are all mismatched. I made two versions of the cake. The first one the pink cup and saucer has two iced biscuits on the saucer and in the second photo the cup is used as a stand for a saucer full of iced biscuits.

The cups and saucers are made with Mexican paste, the flower is made out of flower paste while for all other decorations I used fondant. I also used royal icing to pipe the details on the cups and saucers and the napkin.
