A lovely young lady asked me to make a special cake for her dad Des for his 60th birthday. She wanted a sugar figure of a caricature of her dad in a picture she provided to me – he’s the one wearing white. The sugar figure is hand modelled without moulds and painted in americolour gels direct from the bottle. The cake itself is the Australian Rules local state team – the Redlegs, who happen to be his favourite team. Des used to coach football so I added a little silver whistle.
She was over the moon with the cake and sent me a lovely message that night. Hope you like it too x
