A 6 tier wedding cake that was a close collaboration with the bride who I consulted with all the way to the finish line! Each tier has a different pattern or texture so lets start with that: 1st tier – quilted with individually placed diamantes and finished with a personalised ribbon and a brooch I made which is at the back of the tier in the 3rd picture. 2nd Tier had edible sequins and pearl brushed jimmies to give it some texture. 3rd tier had three bands that I painted with pearl lustre dust and cocoa butter (about 5 coats) and finished it off with three fondant sunburst broaches at the back of the tier. 4th tier is good old silver cake lace – pattern is Clare Bowman Ophelia lace mat. 5th tier took me forever, firstly to paint it in pearl lustre dust and cocoa butter then to measure and place letters on the tier of the bride and grooms chosen song – this tier took me 15 hours to complete, especially to retouch after each letter was placed. And lucky last, the bottom tier with royal icing chandeliers that were lustre dusted in pearl to bring out the pattern and add a nice sheen. Phew! The last picture is me giving it a final blessing before leaving the venue after delivery. Had a tall coffee afterwards and a peice of cake! Hope you like it xxx
