I made this cake for a dear friend of mine. 2015 started off in a bad way for me – not being able to walk, stand or drive was not a great start!! This meant not being able to collect my kids from school. So every day for a good 6 weeks my friend collected my kids from school and brought them home to me safe and sound. She also ran little errands for me during the day to save my hubby having to run around too much after work and at weekends. It is hard to find such GOOD friends who would do anything for you. So being a baker what other way is there to show how much their help and friendship is appreciated – a small (as there is only 3 of them going to eat it) 2 tier ivory and gold cake. I chose to decorate with the ranunculus flower as I had recently seen a tutorial on You Tube by Charlotte Watson demonstrating how to make a ranunculus. So this my first attempt at the flower, and it just so happens to be one of my friends favourite flowers. Enjoy and thank you for looking. x
