Welcome to Pretty Pink for Yasmine, a cake collaboration to remember and celebrate the life of Yasmine, a very special little girl. Aged 5 Yasmine developed a brain tumour and battled against all odds for five months, embracing each day and never complaining. Sadly it was a battle she could not win. Ten years after her passing we remember her and all the little angels taken too soon. Today is her birthday

This is my contribution:
a painting I did of Yasmine, from a photograph her mother generously gave me to use as a reference. The photo was taken just before she fell ill. my portrait is done with cocoa butter and painted onto a sugarpaste plaque and the frame is pink as this was her favourite colour. I felt extremely privileged to be a part of this very special and poignant collaboration.
