Ok, so to say my little girl is a fan of Matilda is just a slight understatement! We have “Matilda Mania” going on in this house. She’s read the book, watched the film, She’s constantly watching excerpts on Youtube of the Musical, learnt all the words from the songs and last weekend we were finally able to take her to see the musical as her birthday treat………so the obvious choice for the theme of her birthday cake was……..Matilda!!!

Included in my photo’s is a collage picture of my inspiration….Matilda’s red hair bow in the film, Matilda’s stripy blue dress from the musical, Scarlett’s favourite song from the musical “Naughty”! and the poster of the Matilda The Musical.
The silhouette of Matilda on the swing and the “Scarlett” letters were all hand cut. And I even got Scarlett involved by writing the words on the book, as I wanted it in children’s writing…..and her handwriting is neater than mine!!! The cake was vanilla, with a white chocolate ganache and raspberry filling.
