I made this cake for my father’s 75th Birthday – but I thought it was a good one to share for the Cricket World Cup too. I wanted the cake to have the classic feel of an old fashioned cigarette card that people collected – but with a more up to date cricketer. The cricketer is hand painted on to florist paste – so all edible. The bails & the cricket ball are all edible too. The cricket ball was made from RKT, airbrushed with RI piped stitching detail. The monogram is my father’s initials – he likes to initial everything so it was a bit of a family joke! The cake was airbrushed as a soft back drop for the cricketer.
