1/4 sheet cake in all buttercream icing and décor. I drew monster house design on with a #3 tip and filled in with a #3 and #4 tip for all details.
I know it’s quicker to use the star tip method to fill in with, but I feel like there is a better design texture to this method, especially for smaller designs.
I outlined in black BC #3, and then used gray #4 back and forth small motions to make a look of old splintered wood. I did rood in #3 black back and forth zig-zag pattern alternating on each row.
filled in window with #3 yellow BC after filling in lines and details.
I used #3 white Bc for porch railings breaking up and old. also making mouth of house and teeth with same tip. Gray steps outlined in black. Brown dirt in BC at base of house.
Brick leaning chimney on to roof. Left top window is a dormer type built out window, so I put another layer of icing.
I then outlined all details of house in black icing, and white porch railings.
I then took shades of navy BC and gray BC dotted about outer area of cake. I blended in with and offset spatula dipped in very warm water and shook off excess water. You have to do this several times, as the icing will stick to the spatula, but I did this sort of rough anyway to make areas look spooky. also added some yellow icing by piping a small amount around house and using smaller offset spatula to blend in towards house… now I could have done this before I outlined and fill in house, but wasn’t sure until after what effect I wanted.
I piped tree’s with #10 and #5 chocolate BC icing, and then #4 darker brown icing.
Tiny bit of green around outer edges blended in with spatula here and there, and around sides with brown.
bottom boarder was black and brown zigzag rough pattern.
