It was my Father-in-Law’s 72nd Birthday last week end.My husband and I wanted to make his Birthday special and decided to have a small surprise party with our close friends. For days, I have been thinking what cake should I make for the loving grand dad. Suddenly, I remembered one of the Peppa Pig books from my daughter’s collection (My Grandpa). My kids love Peppa Pig. Father likes only whipped cream icing. My last fondant decoration trial on a whipped cream cake was an utter flop.

Now the tough task- decorating the cake when kids are awake !!!Usually I decorate cakes after my kids sleep so that I can do it peacefully. (I am sure most moms out there do the same wink emoticon ) Finally, I sent out kids with my hubby and their grand parents to nearby park. Sigh!! Got just over an hour to do all the decorations- Starting from mixing colors, to rolling , cutting and pasting. I decorated only the sides and border with cream. And… this is the finished product. Wish I had more time to rectify all flaws.Hope you like it.
