Edible Paper & Luster Dust Cake- my second cake

Edible Paper & Luster Dust Cake- my second cake Edible Paper & Luster Dust Cake- my second cake

This cake was made for our pre-xmas family dinner and went down a treat. The top tier was red velvet cake with white chocolate buttercream covered in pink icing and then painted and dusted with a shiny shimmery red wine luster dust.
The bottom tier is chocolate orange cake with chocolate spread and orange marmalade buttercream.

The edible paper was white paper but I painted it with burgundy/ wine edible colouring also. I dried the paper sheets in the warm oven quickly, then cut out different length paper stripes and attached same with piping gel.
As wine coloured ribbon finishes off the look.

This is my second cake and I am really enjoying the cake decoration side of things. In fact, I think I will bake some more.

I have been struggling with depression for years and am now intending to ‘Bake my way out of Depression’.
