I wanted to make a beautiful Christmas cake for our family celebration, but was waaayyy short on time. It’s a German Chocolate cake, & I had planned to cover it in white fondant & then coat it in white sugar glitter. I had already made the gold Swirling Snowflakes (by Crystal Candy) cake lace, & I happened to notice the gorgeous shimmery silver chocolate jimmies I had bought for another cake but ended up not using them. I thought the gold really ‘popped’ off the antique silver!
So I switched gears & it even saved me more time because I didn’t even need fondant. I just gave the dark chocolate ganache a thick coat of piping gel & coated it directly with the sprinkles. I covered an ice cream cone with holly leaves for a Christmas tree, & airbrushed it gold. I then attached the lace with a little melted white chocolate. Simple & quick but I really love the colors & effect.
Merry Christmas all my dear Cakes Decor friends! Seeing your amazing creations keeps me so inspired every day. Thank you for all your support & kind words about my cakes. May your holidays be blessed beyond measure!
