This cake went through many changes before I even started. After the poor birthday boy ended up having a gall bladder operation on his actual 50th birthday, the original idea and cake was scrapped. My second attempt was done at very short notice and few hours up my sleeve – so the gravity defying popcorn cake was born! The popcorn is all hand made and painted with a variety of edible colours to help with making them look like the real deal. Gave the cake a heavy gloss like Batman’s superhero cape. Hope it brings a smile to your dial, because let’s face it popcorn is fun!
