I was delighted to be a part of the tribute to Sir Peter Jackson cake collaboration. This was a New Zealand only based collab and was the brainchild of Mel Todd from Take The Cake, and was timed to coincide with the release of his final Hobbit film, but also celebrates the work of this very talented man who has bought cinematic magic to our screens.
This very same man was honoured just 2 days ago with his very own Star on the Hollywood walk of fame.
I chose to make a bust of Sir Peter Jackson himself after having been inspired by Karen Portaleo’s portrayal of Tim Burton for the Cakenweenie Collab, and also to test myself. His base skull is chocolate and the remainder of his face is modelling chocolate with the final layers of his ‘skin’ being Chocit. His hair was very finely cut to try to give his signature unruly hair look. I even had to take him to hair and make up to try to style his hair which had dropped in the humidity.
