I have just set up this cake at Maunsel House in Somerset, a beautiful Victorian Mansion House full of amazing antiques and curiosities. This cake was hand painted on the bottom tier, silver leaf, ombre ruffles then antiqued silver leaf on top. It was my first time using silver leaf, it took a bit of getting used to but once I got the hang of it I really enjoyed using the stuff! There is a lot of silver leaf dotted about my kitchen now and I over ordered, maybe I should go mad and silver leaf the walls!
