Myla contacted me a few months ago enquiring if I could make her 40th birthday cake. When she mentioned it was Gatsby themed I knew I soooo wanted to make this cake. With the theme and colour pallet of white, cream, pearls and feathers, and her requirements of a very elegant cake I sketched her what came to my mind on the very first instant. In my mind, I saw a classy 1920’s vintage flapper dress, with repetitive pattern on the base paired with a matching pearl and feather headpiece. The bottom tier was pearlised and the top kept white. The brooch and feathers are hand-made.
Myla loved the sketch and I loved bringing my vision to life!
The Cake: Moist sweet fresh coconut cake layered with passion fruit Swiss butter cream and iced with Belgian white chocolate ganache.
