I decided the best way to cover all the themes wanted on this cake was to make it a double sided one. The chap had lived in Australia and England and is a sports fan. The Australia side has a hand painted edge in the style of Aboriginal dot painting, there is a contrast in food with the Shrimp on the Barbee and Bangers and Mash. The English side has birds leaving England in the winter and some birds arriving in Australia for the summer on the opposite side. I loved making this cake and have never done a double sided cake before.
