My awesome brother in law retired from the Coast Guard today, after 23 years of service. He told me he wanted a special cake , & jokingly said he was going to ‘test my skills’ in making the former ship he served on—-Coast Guard Cutter Northland.

So of course I had to make it! The hull is red velvet cake with white chocolate buttercream filling, & the top is German Chocolate cake with Coconut Pecan buttercream filling. Fondant, gumpaste & modeling chocolate decor.

Congratulations Mark! We are so proud of you! And grateful for your service to our country!
