I made this cake for the special September issue of Cake Masters Magazine, with 40 cakes around the world. I was honored to work together with such an amazing group of cake artists.
I loved every second of making this cake, and I hope I made justice for my much loved home country. Hungarian kingdom was standing for almost 1000 years and had a major role in European history, and it existed before the kingdom already. In 1920 by the Treaty of Trianon Hungary lost 2/3 of it’s territory ………. /it’s still an open wound on many Hungarian soul/ but it’s still there and now part of the European Union.
Everything is hand painted on the cake with lemon extract and food color and some cocoa butter.
