Hi all,
This is a small cake I made for my dear friend’s nikah (marriage ceremony) today. Its buttercream covered, with my first gumpaste (well, fondant plus tylose) hydrangeas and my first freeform rose from Lisa Templeton’s photo tutorial on fb. I had a bit of a mishap with the piping when my 00 tip (don’t ask me why I decided to use that one – I’m stupid, thats why) clogged repeatedly and completely refused to cooperate just before the last word (typical!) and the next size up which I had was a 1. Plus something odd happened to the buttercream that seemed to get darker… but all in all I got everyone’s name on the cake and spelt it right, which is something XD
This cake was a bit of a last minute surprise, as I’m busy with her (and another friends) wedding cakes for this saturday, then got asked to do this just a few days ago. It was my first time smooth-icing buttercream so I’m really glad it worked out because I didn’t have time to faff about correcting it!
Thanks for looking,
Sawsen
