Love your cake! Please can i ask a question? How did you make such a nice deep cake? Did you use an extra deep cake tin or did you use a sandwich tin and put buttercream between each layer to build the cake up?
@Ruby’s Scruptious Cakes – I generally torte my cakes so there is more filling, which makes it a bit taller than a standard layer cake.

i have a dora cake due this week and am wondering how u did it?
Hi Cherrymom! I am so sorry I don’t think I am getting back to you in time! I took a break and was completely away from cake over the holidays, and just getting back to it all today. I made Dora’s main structure out of gum paste that I let harden and it had a couple of thin wood skewers sunken into it, sticking out of the bottome. So those stuck all the way down into the center of the cake.
