Was given the theme of 2 tier Gothic themed 18th birthday – possibly black/purple or black/red. I gathered inspiration from gothic fashion & art, plus the basque idea from a wedding cake featured in March issue of Cake Craft & Decoration magazine. The rose represents the birthday girl’s middle name. I used cake lace on the basque. Really struggled with covering the basque – being at least 11" high and not being used to such intense heat to work in (based in the UK and loving the summer at the moment).
