This was one of those cakes that I was dreading simply because of the shoe, I’m rubbish at shoe cakes!! Plus I knew that if I didn’t get the details exact then it would be a cake wreck. So the request was from one of my lovely customers who wanted a cake for her sons 18th birthday. He is a tattooist who loves Vans shoes, Rolex’s and bright colours. The tattoo designs are handrawn and painted and copied from Brandon’s own tattoos that his mum sent me pictures of, the red drawing was one of Brandons own sketches that I found on his Facebook wall and on the cake itself is an imprint of the sole of a vans shoe which I made a texture mat for myself in order to achieve and the rest of the cake is covered in a graffiti style Vans logo print. The shoe is also cake.
