One of the largest cakes I’ve done – it was all cake too, no false layers for my brother’s wedding yesterday. Inspired by the bride’s dress and brooch bouquet the double height bottom tier was covered in sugar ruffles, the next tier up with sugar brooches, then another double-height tier with stencilled lace and finally a plainer top tier with wired sugar ruffled flower. It was around 3’ tall, weighed a tonne and took two strong men to lift and carry it (the groom is 6’ 5" for size comparison in the picture of them cutting the cake!).
