This huge wedding cake was commissioned by a fabulous bride & groom who were so obsessed with this musical that they decided to make this their wedding theme! A box structure was made to house all of the cake, gumpaste models, and detailing-including tiny ‘candle’ lights and a handmade chandelier. Dry ice was placed in the tunnel which rolled around the gondola and down the steps,which is where the bulk of the cake was positioned.It was made this way as the happy couple planned to keep the sugar sculpture section as a disply in their home. The cake was placed on my mirrored pillar inside my wedding arch, which was covered with red velvet and gold fringing to complete the theatrical display!
