That was a birthday cake. Alain´s wife told me to make him with his lovely dog Kiara, he adores her. He likes playing tennis too, and she asked me to put them together on a small cake. She gave photos of both, Alain and Kiara. I wanted to be a nice cake, I mean I wanted to feel he loves Kiara so I made them playingm she´s playing with the tennis ball and he´s asking her to give it back with a tender expression on his face.
When I drawed them next I started modelling with gumpaste. When I finished them I painted with touches of dust painting. The rest of the cake is hand painted. It has a net and grass, leafs… I wanted to be more artistic than a typical net and all green.
When he saw the cake didn´t separate of it, he didn´t want anyone to touch the figurines ha ha, was the first thing he did, keeping them to put at home. And I know he have both figurines at a cake stand at his living room.
It was a pumpkin cake with layers of white chocolate buttercream.
