This cake was made for a very special client of mine. She has ordered many cakes from me in the past and has referred me to others on numerous occaisons, so when i found out her 40th birthday was coming up, i decided to surprise her with this as a way of saying thank you.
I took inspiration for the design of this cake from a gorgeous set of gold and blush pink china cups and saucers i have in my kitchen.
Cake is finished with a wafer paper flower brushed with shades of gold and blush pink to give a faded vintage look.
