This was a ‘use it or lose it’ cake I made this weekend to use the leftover chocolate & brandy cake crumb, buttercream and fondant from a cake order. I took inspiration for the design from a wall hanging I’d bought some time ago and which, from the moment I’d seen it, I’d known I had to ‘fondantasize’ it (can we make that an official word, please?). I took the cake to my day job for my office friends and colleagues as a little thank you for putting up with my constant cakey talk.
