Asked to do this birdcage cake for a wedding, firstly it was a nightmare to make, had to stay up all night to decorate as we had a heat wave & you all know heat & cake don’t mix :( ….goes on delivery with the said cake only to be in a total mess upon delivery. Couldn’t be salvished & had to explain to the wedding organiser I couldn’t deliver the cake in the state it was in. I had 90 minutes to get it fixed & back to the venue. Unfortunately it took a while longer to strip it back to bare cake, re-ice it & decorate. Got back up nearly 2hrs too late but the bridal party were so understanding & loved the cake. Here’s my first one that got destroyed….the second one was exactly the same luckily as I managed to save all the decorations before it became a mess
