Inspired by a Carlos Lischetti creation, I made this for two ladies having baby boys and due very close to each others due date. The fondant baby was meant to be holding a big glossy balloon but following an accident where the balloon could no longer be used – I made a small fondant baby bear cap for the baby that is sitting next to his right hand and covering the hole where the balloon cord had been positioned. In the absence of a balloon, a butterfly was placed on the fondant baby’s forehead so he had something to look up at! I loved making this cake and even more so, helping the two gorgeous pregnant colleagues celebrate their wonderful news and pending births.
