Campfire Birthday Cake

Campfire Birthday Cake

Made for my dad. When he was a boy he used to play with his friends on the Lomond Hills in Fife. Every time they got to a certain point near Arity Den one of them would say “Get the tea on Gaffer” to my dad, who would then set up a campfire and put on a brew for them all to enjoy. Now in his retirement, my dad had taken to walking among the hills to keep fit, and every time he passes the same point he remembers his childhood and his friends.

We also made a photobook of all my dad’s grandchildren taking a walk up to Arity den with a kettle and mugs. Can’t wait to see his face.
