I made this cake for a cake maker friend of mine. We both decided to make each other a cake to ensure we both have one for our birthdays – don’t think I’ve had one since I was 21 – a very long time ago!!! The cake was blueberry and lemon flavoured sponge with lemon curd and italian meringue buttercream and, I have to say, tasted lush! The design was based on the lovely burlap ribbon that I’ve been dying to use for a while. :)
